'Twas the year we started a library...
We invite you to join us as we celebrate the first year of the Etna Pop-Up Library, and help raise funds for the library building's renovation.

Theme & Program:
Based on Charles Dicken's "A Christmas Carol," the program for "An Etna Carol" will look at the past, present, and future of Etna and its library. The program will include a reading of the poem "Twas the Night Before Groundbreaking," read by Senator Lindsey Williams and Representative Lindsay Powell; a musical performance and presentation of Etna's 2023 accomplishments; a fun play titled "The Ghosts of Etna;" a short film titled "Before We Had A Library;" some MAJOR announcements; and a celebratory toast. Special program and performances will be from 7:30-8:00 p.m. Following the program, there will be mingling and dancing for all.
Dress:
We encourage you to dress in costume as your favorite character from a book, story, poem, comic, movie, TV show, song, etc. If you do not dress up as a character, we ask that you dress festively!
Age:
This event is geared towards adults. We are also working on having on-site childcare so if that's of interest to you, please check back at a later date to see if there is an option available for that.
Food & Drink:
All beverages will be free at the event including non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages. Some snacks and food will be provided, but not a full meal. And there will be a cookie table!
Fundraising:
To raise funds for the library, some money is being raised through ticket sales, but a significant portion will be going towards the space rental, furniture rental, drink/food, performances, etc. To support fundraising, we ask that you consider a digital or check donation to the library as an end-of-year gift to the community. Digital donations can be made via Square. Checks should be made out to the "Etna Community Organization" with "Library" in the memo line. Any amount is welcome!
